First Presbyterian is committed to teaching and ministering to children of all ages and their families.  From birth through childhood, our goal is to guide children through the Bible and walk with them as they experience God for themselves. We desire to partner with parents to provide a holistic ministry to kids.

Every time a child comes to First Pres, they are taught that they are LOVED: by their families, by their church, and by their God.

Nursery & Toddler Care: available for children under 4-years-old during the Sunday morning hours (10:00 a.m.–Noon.) Our nursery room is equipped with books, toys, and activities that we hope will make children feel right at home.

10:00 a.m. Children’s Church: We offer Children’s Church during our morning worship service. We ask kids to sit with their parents in the sanctuary for the first 15 minutes of the worship service. After the Children’s Sermon, they are invited to follow their teachers upstairs to the classrooms. In each class, we explore the character of God through a Bible story through play, games and crafts. Parents pick up all students in their classroom immediately after the service. If they aren not picked up by 11:15, their teacher will walk them to Sunday School in the gym. Classrooms are located up the stairs off the Fellowship Hall.

11:15 a.m. Sunday School: During our all-ages Christian Education hour, we offer Sunday School classes for K-4th grade students each week in the upstairs gym.

Safety and Security: Your child’s safety is very important to us.  Our Children’s Ministry teachers and volunteers have undergone background checks and training. We ask that parents fill out a registration form, including any allergies or medical concerns so that we can best care for your child.

Child Registration

We would love to have your child participate with us, and to connect with you! To register your child for FPC’s Faith Explorer Sunday School and/or special events, please fill out our student registration form. 

Interested in volunteering?

There are many ways to get involved in Children’s Ministry at FPC. We’re happy to welcome and train new volunteers to teach Sunday School, care for infants and toddlers in our nursery, and participate in special events.
