Love God. Love one another. Love neighbor. Make disciples.
Upcoming Series: Wilderness
This Lent we’ll begin in the wilderness. The gospels tell us that after his baptism, the Spirit guides Jesus into the wilderness where he comes face to face with temptation and a struggle against evil. Yet, in his forty days of fasting, resisting, and wandering, Jesus is shaped and formed for ministry. Similarly, through the wilderness of Lent, we are invited to surrender to the wild leadings of God’s Spirit and allow this season to transform us. Our wandering in the wilderness can be difficult—we may not come home the same—which is why we almost never head there willingly. Rather, it’s often the circumstances of our lives that create the conditions to push us into the wild. Even so, it is through our wilderness wandering that we will know more fully who we are and whose we are… for there is no wilderness so harsh, that God’s love will not find us. This Lent, we welcome you to the journey.
New to First Presbyterian?
Here at First Pres, we aim to be a warm, intergenerational community of Christ followers that welcome all people (and we do mean everyone!) to worship God and grow in faith. We’re just a bunch of imperfect people, committed to following Jesus and learning how to love one another more fully. We keep the mission of our church pretty simple; love God, love one another, love neighbor, and make disciples. It might be simple, but we’ve decided that’s enough to give our lives to! We hope you’ll join us.
