The Worship Operations Team is responsible for all the technical aspects that go in to making worship happen at FPC SLC, including sound, projection, and live streaming. We also produce various videos outside of worship, including the virtual tour you may have seen at Kirkin 2020, the various concert videos, and more. Our mission is to make worship at FPC SLC a seamless experience for all participants so that the focus of our services remains on the worship of God.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What do I need to know to join the Worship Ops team?
A: Absolutely nothing! Any technical knowledge you have will be a benefit, but lack of technical knowledge will not be a handicap. We will train you in everything that you need to do, and won’t have you fly solo until you’re ready.
Q: What is the time commitment on the Worship Ops team?
A: As much or as little as you’d like. We have techs who work one service a month, techs who work four or five services a month, and everywhere in-between. Whatever you can contribute will be appreciated. Our ultimate goal is to have enough folks on board that each operator will only have to do one or two services per month, unless they’d like to do more.
Q: I might be interested in joining the Worship Ops team, but I’d like to see what exactly it is that you do. Is there somewhere I can see more details on what that entails?
A: We’d be happy to have you shadow one of our techs during a Sunday service! Please email firstname.lastname@example.org and Jen will get you in touch with us.
We’re always happy to welcome new members to our team! No experience of any kind is required; we’ll teach you all you need to know. Please fill out the Worship Volunteer form, making sure to select ‘Sound and Video Technicians’, and someone will get in touch. If you have questions about volunteering, please email email@example.com and Jen will pass your message along to us.
