Saturday, July 11th from 10:00-11:30 AM at Liberty Park

Ages 4 – completed 5th grade.

This year, there are a limited 20 spots. Once they are filled, we will begin a wait list. VBS will take place at Liberty park (location subject to change). Kids will have their own cardboard “car” that will be placed 6 feet from all other “cars.” Games, crafts, and an awesome Bible story will all take place within each “car.” Come hear about how God is always with us, even when things around us are scary!

Our focus was on how God is always with us—even when things seem SCARY!

Story: The story is found in Daniel 6. Read from your favorite children’s Bible or watch this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VQC4Cv5FDPI If you don’t have a Jesus Storybook Bible and would like one, give the church office a call.  We’d love to get one to you.

Craft: http://janaysquilts.blogspot.com/2010/07/lion-pillows.html Supplies are available at the church office

Games: 1) retell the story and have kids listen closely for the word “Daniel.” Whenever you say “Daniel,” they should hold up their lion pillow. 2) Freeze dance! Play one of the songs from our playlist.  When you stop they music, kids should freeze. You can play in three rounds to help retell the story.  The first time they should freeze in a prayer position, the second time they should freeze in their best roaring lion position, and the last round they can freeze in their best celebration position.

Want more? What other Bible stories can you think of where God was with someone through difficult times? Maybe Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego; or Paul and Silas in Prison? Noah’s Ark, Joseph, the Israelites in the Desert, David Pursued by Saul, Elijah and the Ravens, Jesus Calming the Storm, or even Jesus’ Death and Resurrection? I’m sure you can think of even more! Spend some time reading through these stories this week from the Bible and talking about how God was with his people when things were SCARY.  He promises to always be with us too.
