First Pres is committed to teaching and ministering to children of all ages and their families.  From birth to childhood, our desire is to guide children through the Bible, and walk with them as they experience God for themselves.  Our desire is to partner with parents to provide a total ministry to kids.

Every time a child comes to church, they are taught that they are LOVED:  by their families, by their church, and by their savior Jesus Christ.

Nursery Care: Nursery Care is available for children birth-3 years old during all three Sunday morning hours (9:00am-Noon) .  Parents will check in children upstairs and receive a pager that will be used if needed.  Our nursery room is equipped with books, toys, and activities that we hope will make children feel right at home.

11:00 am: The 11:00 hour offers three Sunday School classes:  Preschool-Kindergarten (4’s and 5’s), 1st-2nd graders, and 3rd-5th graders.  We ask kids to sit with their parents in the sanctuary for the first 15 minutes of the worship service.  After the children’s sermon, they will be invited to follow their teachers to their respective classrooms.  In each class, the Bible story is told in an interactive way, and there are an assortment of crafts and games that retell and emphasize the Bible story.  Preschoolers also get a snack and free play time with any of the toys that are put out for them that week. We ask parents to pick up all student in their classrooms immediately after the service. Preschoolers are upstairs in the first room next to the nursery, and Elementary classrooms are located on the main floor in classrooms 1 and 2.

Safety and Security: Your child’s safety is very important to us.  Our children’s volunteers, teachers, and workers have undergone background checks, first aide, and CPR training. We ask that parents fill out a registration form, including any allergies or medical concerns so that we can best care for your child.  We also ask parents to sign in their child before they go to Sunday School, and sign them out when picking them up.
