Thy Kingdom Come

Do you sense it? One of the unexpected side effects of this time of pandemic is a renewed curiosity and openness towards God. We see it in the numbers of people viewing our worship services and interacting with our Facebook posts (recently our weekend services reached over a thousand people!).

This year we are joining with millions of Christians around the world to pray for God’s Spirit to work in the hearts and lives of people who don’t know Jesus, so that they might encounter His love and peace and come to follow Him and give their lives in service to His Kingdom. This is a special time of prayer over the 11 days between Ascension Day and Pentecost (May 21- May 31). This is called “Thy Kingdom Come”—we pray every week (or every time we wash our hands) for God’s kingdom to come on earth as it is in heaven, this is a way to focus on that prayer in some concrete ways.

We are encouraging everyone to Pray for 5 Friends Each Day. Click here for some suggestions about how to do this.  I love the “BLESS” acrostic as a way to pray for a person’s whole self. Pray for 5 Friends Each Day

(then on a new line)  You can also use this prayer journal as an aid throughout the 11 days. Thy Kingdom Come Prayer Journal

Consider downloading the Thy Kingdom Come Apple App or Thy Kingdom Come Google App for your phone—it has resources and reminders to help you pray each day, including a short video, Bible reading, reflection, and more!

Families! Check out the Family Adventure Prayer Map (and the augmented reality app you can use to play games as you pray!)
All of us have friends and loved ones who need special prayer and care right now. Here are some tips that may help you care for them.
